Scary cellphone video from one of the truckers. Fairly graphic cause you can see the car get crushed.

Fuck that was a flashback to the day the altima got hit....Whiteouts are scary because you don’t know if people are going to slowdown or stop or keep going full speed or what.

I don’t want to watch, but did this happen in the last few days? I remember comparing airport distances  in the Midwest and seeing all of the highways red through Missouri.

“Slow the hell down, people!”

And that needs to include commercial truck drivers who I’ve often witnessed not slowing down in bad weather.

And what do I see in this video ? A b un ch of commercial trucks that, like people in cars, didn’t slow down until it was too late.

More than a few times, I’ve had some of these commercial truck drivers behave like complete assholes by tailgating me because I dared to slow down due to worsening weather conditions... and I was even in the right-most lane.

Been there, done that. Moved south and got smarter about driving in risky weather. Stay safe out there, OPPOs

Yeah, just googled and saw that. Damn.

And I guess it was 47 cars, if you count all of the cars that were directly affected by the pileup (like running off-road).

We had 5 jack knifed big rigs on I90 west of Missoula yesterday. 90 has been closed off and on over the last few days. Crazy shit with this much snow and s holiday weekend we are staying home!

Is there some sort of explanation? I mean was the road not salted and icy? Or were there all on summer tires?
I just know on a snowy road (no ice) with winter tyres I stop  a lot quicker than these guys

Should probably include that this was a fatal accident and likely shows the victim.

A note to fellow Oppos, unless you have EMS training, leave that trapped guy in the car, unless the car is on fire/risk of catching on fire. There’s not a goddamn thing you can do to help that guy, and you’ll likely fuck him up even more by extracting him.

I got lucky to leave Kansas and drive through there Thursday instead of Friday.

I got off the exit before today, and Google maps takes me down 30 miles of 2 lane highway while it starts freezing rain.

A couple semis were off and getting pulled out of  the median a few miles before that.

Shit. Moral of the story: stay in your car, or get well clear (after checking your rear view).
